PORTFOLIO PRACTICE, MARKETING
2024

The objective of this project was to utilize my own photography to craft enticing travel advertisements. While I had several locations in mind, my primary focus was on promoting the cruise ship brand Carnival, with a specific emphasis on the captivating Bahamas.
Inspiration
First, I got an idea what some cruise ads would look like since I didn’t really have an idea. So, these reference photos were helpful baselines of what I was going to use as references.
Company Logo
Next, I found the logo, Carnival and image traced it in illustrator to create a cleaner and higher quality version using black-and-white.
Photo Collection
Next, I show the process of taking photos in the Bahamas to get inspiration and images of the environment. Below the pictures are the raw images I use for the project.
Final
The images below represent the final versions of my advertisements. For this project, I intentionally skipped the brainstorming and sketching phase. Instead, I chose to rely solely on image and typography creation. This approach challenged me to work with what I had, and I found the process of experimenting in Photoshop to be more organic compared to following a preplanned structure. Especially when working with imagery and typography, this free-flowing approach allowed for greater creativity. Below is my advertisement mockups. These mockups are based on thin magazines that would be found at a travel agency lobby.
