Clever Girl Meets Dyslexia is my first children's book in a series of five. The purpose of these books is to educate kids who have learning disabilities and other neurological spectrum conditions like ADHD. The goal was to provide research methods on how to support the unique learning needs each child needs. This topic is close to home for me because when I was a kid, books like this were nonexistent.
Rough Draft
After creating the script outline of the story, I consulted with a friend to design the spreads below.
Digital pages
Next phase in creating the book included coloring in the sketch to create images for each page of the book. It was my friends and my first-time designing spreads for a book. We identified that the spreads were not aligning with the specification of the book parameters. Therefore, I modified the images as needed in ID and PS to allow for the spreads to be functional for book printing purposes.
